Of the over 1600 freshwater lakes in the District of Muskoka, best known may be Lake Muskoka, Lake Rosseau, Lake Joseph and Lake of Bays which feature a diverse mix of stately century old family compounds and cottages as well as more contemporary year round homes. Smaller lakes are often a preferred option for a cottage waterfront experience because they can provide excellent value and more waterfront privacy for your investment. Skeleton Lake, Three Mile Lake, Wood Lake, Leonard Lake, McKay Lake, Pine Lake, Prospect Lake, Bird Lake, and Leech Lake, are just a few that are definitely worth considering for your waterfront location. Still others prefer the carefree full service lifestyle of Muskoka Bay Club or the warm and welcoming community experience of Gravenhurst, Bracebridge and Huntsville.
