We had a great time at the Cottage Life Show at the end of March and really enjoyed catching up with our favourite clients!  

It’s always interesting to search out some of the innovative items that people are building or working on. Our three show highlights came from knowledgeable individuals and companies creating unique items including: 

Tim Britnell at the Makita booth where we talked about his assortment of lightweight, cordless, battery-powered tools perfect for cottage use. I personally love my electric chainsaw, which starts every time without muss or fuss! I cut and Mark splits and piles. We picked it up at Weismiller Lumber Timbrmart in Bala. 

The knowledgeable Rob Cahill chatted with us at the Cahill’s booth. This Peterborough-based company is known for heritage luxury outerwear, cottage country activewear, fashion accessories and full fur services. They upcyle heirloom fur coats into the most stylish, updated pieces. I was eyeing  a gorgeous mink-lined, navy blue waterproof cashmere coat with fur trim. I settled for a pair of Cloudzzz slippers which are like puffy duvet clouds on your feet – perfect after a day of walking around the show.

We had a great chat with Tabitha and Andrew from Monaco Group Manufacturing about an adjustable kayak/paddle board/canoe holder. Specializing in curved aluminum ramps, they can design and build to your exact requirements for whatever challenges you’re facing with your ramp needs. Designs can be inclusive of railings, hinges, decking, wheel systems or simply a bare frame for DIYers. It’s the perfect way to keep toys organized and safely tucked away when not in use.
