ANNUAL MLA FAMILY SEEDLING DAY, SATURDAY MAY 18TH FOR PICK UP.  Over 52,000 seedlings planted since 1991 (including expected 2024 plantings)! HUNTSVILLE FESTIVAL SUMMER EVENTS. We were lucky enough to chat with Executive Director, Dan Watson and Programmer Hannah Shira Naiman who is also a regular performer. We really like the multiple venues chosen specifically to complement the style and vibe of a wide slection of artists. The Huntsville ART CRAWL throughout June this free self guided art tour takes place in and around downtown Huntsville, Muskoka. Visitors will create their own free art crawl experience by touring local businesses, galleries & studios which feature exhibits, demos & interactive experiences by local artists. 

This year’s crawl will feature many special events including mural painting, the BIA’s garden party, Walkabout Wednesday Gallery Tours, a celebration of National Indigenous People’s Day and more. The event culiminates with an open air art market in River Mill Park on June 22nd with vendors,read on> music and a live art auction. read on>>

THE ETWELL SUMMER SERIES, June - September. Performers all summer long at this lush, forested outdoor venue near Huntsville. Long recommened by the Milners, bring lawn chair and blanket. Etwell Summer Series read on>>

We're heading out on July 14th to see Garret T. Willie, blues virtuoso, just 23 years old, witty and world wise from Kingcome Inlet, off the coast of British Columbia. Located in Fenelon Falls, Ontario, The Grove Theatre gets a Benson Thumbs UP. This idyllically located outdoor amphitheatre, offers an annual season of its own theatre productions, together with appearances by renowned Canadian guest artists, community events, and a drama camp for young people. We always make it a point to check out at least a couple of performances each season and highly recommend this experience. (read on>)

CONCERT VENUE DRAMA IN MINNETT JULY LONG WEEKEND Lots of rumours on this one.  Mayor  Kelly and Muskoka Lakes Township Council are in the process of ensuring that health and safety issues are addressed by this venue. This currently gets a D2BM recommendation from us.... "definitely to be missed" given information so far. Stay tuned as we learn more. (read on>)
