Living and loving Muskoka involves attending fun events and things to do in all four seasons! The following is our Mark & Susan Benson featured list  and we are always open to your suggestions if you think we have missed one.  Stay tuned as we regularly update.


MEN OF SONG ANNUAL SPRING CONCERT, June 21st, 2024, 7:00PM. Celebrating 40 of music at Pinegrove Fellowship Church.  Join the Choir along with talented Sean Kelly Bursary recipients, Muskoka's MenFolk and The FOOG. Directed by world famous and locally loved piano teacher Frances Balodis. Not to be missed evening filled with joy, laughter, and great music. See you there! Order tickets now>

THE WINDEREMERE STRAWBERRY SOCIAL & BAKE SALE, June 29th, 2024, 1:00-4:00PM. You'll notice a musical theme with this months top recommended events. With this in mind, you can positively hear the chorus of angels break out in glorious song as heaps of whipped cream land upon, fresh Ontario, strawberry laden cake. Or you may choose ice cream. Or both. This fun annual affair takes place in the gardens of Christ Church Windermere rain or shine. Adults $12. Kids under 6 $5. Mark and Susan will be there volunteering so be sure to say hello. Funds to community outreach.

MUSKOKA POWWOW, June 29th, Annie Williams Park, Bracebridge

Everyone is invited to experience the beauty of Muskoka's first annual Traditional Powwow.  In Honour of both “The One Dish with One Spoon Treaty" and Truth and Reconciliation, this is a not to be missed summer event! read on>

CANADA DAY MUSKOKA LAKES MUSEUM, July 1st 10:00am-5:00pm. Fun while you learn! Pioneer dress up, lawn games, fur trade games, floor puzzle, face painting and more. Free with admission read on>

WALKERS POINT MARINA FIREWORKS, July 2nd at dark. Always a favourite as families of boaters gather on Lake Muskoka to watch this fabulously dramatic display. Also available to see from the Seguin evening boat cruise. 

MUSIC ON THE BARGE, Every Sunday Night at Gull Lake Park Gravenhurst, 7:00PM. This concert series is the largest outdoor concert series north of Toronto and draws thousands to the shores of Gull Lake to enjoy a great evening of musical entertainment at this unique waterfront setting. Admission is by a FREE WILL OFFERING. Weather permitting-decision will be made by 5:00 PM ahead of the 7PM Show. Follow on Facebook and Instagram for event updates. 

MUSKOKA LAKES ASSOCIATION AGM, Windermere House, July 18th, 4:30pm.  This members only event is a chance to catch up over cocktails, and celebrate the many MLA accomplishments together in a beautiful resort setting on the shores of Lake Rosseau. read on>

HUNTSVILLE FESTIVAL SUMMER EVENTS. We were lucky enough to chat with Executive Director, Dan Watson and Programmer Hannah Shira Naiman who is also a regular performer. We really like the multiple venues chosen specifically to complement the style and vibe of a wide slection of artists. From the Algonquin Theatre to Hillside Barn, Canvas Brewery and the Etwell Summer Series.  Detailed July and August summer program here>

The Huntsville ART CRAWL throughout June this free self guided art tour takes place in and around downtown Huntsville, Muskoka. Visitors will create their own free art crawl experience by touring local businesses, galleries & studios which feature exhibits, demos & interactive experiences by local artists. 

This year’s crawl will feature many special events including mural painting, the BIA’s garden party, Walkabout Wednesday Gallery Tours, a celebration of National Indigenous People’s Day and more. The event culiminates with an open air art market in River Mill Park on June 22nd with vendors,read on> music and a live art auction. read on>>

THE ETWELL SUMMER SERIES, June - September. Performers all summer long at this lush, forested outdoor venue near Huntsville. Long recommened by the Milners, bring lawn chair and blanket. Etwell Summer Series read on>>


Located in Fenelon Falls, Ontario, The Grove Theatre gets a Benson Thumbs UP. This idyllically located outdoor amphitheatre, offers an annual season of its own theatre productions, together with appearances by renowned Canadian guest artists, community events, and a drama camp for young people. We always make it a point to check out at least a couple of performances each season and highly recommend this experience. (read on>)

HARVEST FESTIVAL AT THE MIDLOTHIAN CASTLE, September 13th - 16th. This Screaming Heads event in Burk's Falls is so popluar it is almost sold out. Artist and retired school teacher Peter Camani has created an immense, head turning artscape of huge cast-concrete sculptures throughout his 310-acre property. Locally referred to as The Screaming Heads, this property serves as the artist’s home as well as his canvas - and the setting for this weekend event of non stop fun. read on>
